Books for Make 14 at Bovey Tracey
The Devon Guild of Makers at Bovey Tracey command well earned respect among makers. Their shop in Devon is a perfect joy to visit - containing a hoard of treasures all beautifully presented.
I was delighted to be be selected for their Christmas show this year and have the opportunity of showing my work in such company.
The books I have selected are hardback volumes with plain paper pages- suitable for notes, sketching and multiple other uses.
Each book is covered with with my own handprinted papers in a variety of patterns. This paper is silkscreen printed with anything from one to four layers of ink depending on the design.
Each book is created using decorative open spine bindings
and has its own slipcase
This book is double ended making twice as much space neatly divided in half.
Made in a variety of different shapes and sizes there is one suitable for every purpose : from 5 x 5 x 5 to 15cm square or A5 portrait format.
The Devon Guild of Craftsmen can be found at http://www.crafts.org.uk/

Books at Oriel y Parc
Do you fancy making a special book to your own specifications but not sure where to start?
Bring your ideas along to this workshop and I will help you turn them into reality.
Concertina Folds
This method of folding a concertina makes a neat zigzag and will fit the cover every time.
Be sure to measure the cover accurately before cutting your paper strip for the pages. The concertina needs to be just smaller than the finished covers so that the book will lay flat on the table when opened.
